  • - You must be a Wichita-based Textron Aviation employee or an employee’s immediate family member.

  • - By purchasing a Ground School Kit from TAEFC and taking one of our ground school classes. Once you have passed ground school you will be signed off to take the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam and you will need to pass with a 70% or better.

    - There is the option to self-study the ground school and then take the FAA Written Exam with a 70% or better, however taking the TAEFC Ground School class is preferred.

  • - You can pick up your ground school kit at the East Club Location Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm from our Flying Club Coordinator, please contact Cathy Holmes to coordinate times. You can pay using cash, check or credit card (except American Express).

  • - It is preferred to have your FAA Medical Exam completed before taking the FAA Written Exam.

  • - When you complete in-class ground school and you have passed the FAA written Exam an instructor will already be assigned to you.

    - If you did self-study, our Chief CFI will work with you to pair you with a Club instructor.

  • - According to the FAA, the minimum age to earn a sport, recreational or private pilot license is 17 years of age.

  • - Once you join TAEFC, you will do a VFR check out with one of our instructors before you can schedule an aircraft. Our Chief CFI will assist you with your future goals.

  • - There are limited opportunities due to resource constraints, but we would love to try to get you in one of our airplanes while you are here.
